Hi, I’m Maerle, the writer behind Travel to Catalonia. I was born in the Netherlands and lived there until after I got my degree in International Tourism Management in 2005. I left to travel the world with my boyfriend (now husband) and we got to experience so many amazing places. After traveling the world it was hard for us to settle in the Netherlands again and we started looking for alternatives. Finally we moved to Catalonia in 2016, and this beautiful region has now truly become our home. Our children were born here, and together we love exploring everything Catalonia has to offer, from the lively streets of Barcelona to quiet mountain villages and hidden coves along the Costa Brava.
